ABC Amateur Athletics, Inc.

Dear Visitor

Thank you for taking time to visit our website and learn more about our team and our organization. Founded in 2001, ABC Amateur Athletics, Inc is an organization that emphasizes the importance of higher education while we demonstrate how accessible a college education is. You might wonder how this involves StormUSA. StormUSA is the name of our women’s softball team. All the members of the team agree to donate their time helping educate young girls on the benefits of college. Players are very willing to share their personal experiences with the kids. Whether they walked on to their college team, transferred from a junior college, or received an athletic scholarship, they ultimately have come together to form one of the most formidable ASA (Amateur Softball Association) teams in the country. The success of the team provides a credibility whereby they can capture the attention of young players, and through the conduit of softball the main goals of ABC are met.

Another goal of our organization pertains to the StormUSA women’s team itself. Two of the three partners at ABC Amateur Athletics were players themselves. Anne Knobbe and Bonnie Ebenkamp both played at schools that were not softball powers during their college careers and were largely overlooked on the national main stage. With that in mind we set out to recruit players that ordinarily wouldn’t get a second look. The results have been outstanding. StormUSA players have received dozens of National or All-American awards. As an organization we have earned a reputation for finding hidden talent, but their achievements are not solely individual accomplishments. As a team these athletes have simply been amazing, not only winning a National Championship, but never finishing less than 5th in the country. Simply put these women have built a foundation for what we believe will be a constant threat to capture the National Championship.

As exciting as watching the 1st youth player we’ve assisted become a college grad, or hoisting the Women’s Major Championship Trophy will be, it has come at considerable cost. Operation expenses in the 10+ years of our existence have exceeded $250,000 the majority of which has been provided by Anne, Bonnie and Chris Wells personally. At this point fundraising has become critical. We welcome any help you can offer and we encourage you to attend one or more StormUSA games and see how much fun helping kids of all ages can be. Hope to see you soon and again thanks for taking the time.

Sincerely,

Anne, Bonnie, and Chris
